Navigation Module

In order to define navigation techniques inVRs makes of the concept of composition. Three independent components were identified wich form a navigation technique. These components are speed, orientation and direction.

Each of the components is defined by individual models which can be composed to a single navigation technique. The speed models describe how the speed of the navigation is determined. The translation models define in which direction the movement has to take place and the orientation models determine the orientation during the movement.

All of the three configured models reslut in a single transformation matrix which is typically applied on the user coordinates or the camera.
